The Eighth Street Trekkers' Lodge Bed and Breakfast Guest Book

11/30/06
Heather - thank you for your kindness and help getting to and from the airport!  I really enjoyed the mermaid tub and your artwork.  This was the best part of my stay!  Diana from Portland, OR

11/25/06
Dear Heather,  Thank you so much for letting us stay at the Trekkers' Lodge.  The bed was extremely comfortable!  Your art and prayer flags gave a real cozy feel to the room.  It was nice to see you again.  Beth and Brian from Holbrook, NY

11/25/06
Heather, I had a wonderful time staying at your place. The bed I slept on was the most comfortable I've ever slept in.  Playing the bells in Kerrytown was the best part of my trip.  When I go home I will tell my friends that I've played a seven ton instrument.  I really enjoyed looking at your art and I think you are a great artist.  Thank you so much.  Michael, age 9, from Holbrook, NY

11/21/06
I am so happy that I chose your place over other B&Bs.  The Eighth Street Trekkers' Lodge is the most comfortable and unique place I have stayed at, and I think I won't be able to find a better place than this in the future.  Thank you so much for your hospitality and delicious breakfasts.  The conversations about traveling were so fun and as a result boosted up my passion for wandering around the world.  I really hope to climb Mt. Everest one day.  If I do start planning for it, I will definitely let you know.  Once again, thank you so much for everything.  Youdong from South Korea

11/17/06
Thanks so much for everything.  You have an amazing house and I really enjoyed my stay.  Keep up the adventures so you'll have more great stories to tell next time.  Linda from Naperville, IL

11/11/06
Many thanks for your hospitality and the opportunity to play the carillon.  Adrian, Oak Park, IL

11/4/06
Heather - What a pleasure to meet you, and to stay in your great lodge.  It was a perfect stopover on our trek.  We sure appreciate your warmth and hospitality - even though we came in late and left soon.  All the best to you and the future occupants of this charming room.  Thanks for sharing with us.  Hope to see you soon.  Kelly and David from Jackson, MI

9/17/06
Heather, This is the most wonderful place - a place for self-reflection, prayer and inspiration.  Thank you for opening your home to the world!  We will see you again.  Nina and Bob, Grand Rapids, MI

9/11/06
Thanks so much for the perfect place for me to sequester myself for my yoga assessment weekend.  Wish I had had the time to partake in some of your events with your Nepalese friends!  The room is definitely good karma.  Blessings to you and all your great work!  Craig from Denver, Colorado

9/9/06
It's been a week with school starting and all the attendant issues and management required to begin a new school year.  I really, in some ways, had no business coming over to Ann Arbor - The class at Hollander's was exhausting but interesting and the Kerrytown Bookfest tomorrow will be its own kind of show.  So, with filthy hands and a to-the-bone tiredness, I drove over to Eighth Street - said a quick "hello - good bye" to you and came on in.  Heather, this is a happy place.  It's light, airy and filled with wonder.  It lifts me up just to be here.  Thank you for sharing your home so easily.  Mary

8/24/06
Hi!  I don't know how to be enough thankful for your unlimited kindness and hospitality.  Last night I was a young Swiss fellow without any bed and lost by the storm!  My only address could have been 307 under the bridge, Huron River.  And I actually slept in this wonderful pretty and tidy room, my feet comfortably lying not far from the Everest and my soul in safe.  You only told me that I had a good "karma", but I answer that you have mostly a good soul.  Thanks for the dinner, too!  It was a funny idea, really.  Thanks for all and God bless you!  Auretien from Switzerland

8/4/06
Heather, what a break from the ordinary your lovely lodge has been!  What bursts of visual surprise - a fanciful green lizard sliding up to a doll house, a chair filled with opossums, dogs, skunks, beetles and a keyboard, a silver Nepalese flag attached to a spoon, and all manner of mermaids everywhere!  Thank you for your hospitality and for your pursuit of wonder.  Ted and Laura

7/23/06
Heather!  Great two nights here.  It was nice to find a relaxed B&B that meshed with our personalities.  Great place.  Hope to see you again.  Maybe in Nepal!  Stephen and Kristie

7/9/06
Dear Heather, Thank you so much for the comfortable stay.  I really like the quietness of your house and the feeling like being at home.  I like Ann Arbor as much as Madison!  God bless you! Cheh-Ming Lui from Taiwan

5/25/06
I loved staying here!  Was nice talking to you.  I will pass on your info to my daughter who loves adventure!  Barb

6/17/06
Heather, what a treat to accidentally stay in a B&B hosted by someone I went to Burns Park Elementary, Tappan Junior and Pioneer High School with - what were the chances?  And what a relief from fussy old-fashioned B&Bs!  Your abode has such great character - this is the Ann Arbor experience I came back for!  Bona fortuna on all of your exciting endeavors.  David & Keith, Minneapolis, MN

6/9/06
Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!  We all slept very well!  We look forward to staying here again the next time we're in town.   Heidi
Thank you for all that you do for your bed and breakfast and thank you for letting us come.  Britton age 5

6/8/06
What a delightful time we've had in your Lodge!  The accommodations were excellent.  We ran the air conditioner until about 3am both nights with windows closed and finished the night with open windows.  The open windows lit us hear the first birds when all else was still quiet.  We especially enjoyed our time with you.  With your time in Nepal and Hungary and in this country from El Paso to Ann Arbor make you a real citizen of the world, a characterization possessed by too few. Your art and the clever annotations throughout are just fun and provide more insight into who you are.  Thanks for letting us celebrate your birthday by playing the chimes & for sharing your stories about the collaboration at the Rotary International 100th anniversary of your friend's accomplishment of Everest.  We can't wait to tell our Rotary Club.  Harris and Mary Bella Vista, Arkansas

6/4/06
Eighth Street Trekkers' Lodge comfort, whimsy and location in all of Ann Arbor town can't make a better reservation.  For the wedding we came to partake in the celebration staying here with Heather Exceeded every expectation.  From Frederika's [cat] gentle greeting to all the helpful information, mermaids and the Himalayas, it's the ultimate accommodation.  Long live this house and keepers through every generation for all artists and adventurers may it serve as inspiration!  Thanks for everything.  Gracias pro todo - estaba un placer!  Mille grazie, e stato un gran piacere!  Matteo & Rafael from New Platz, New York

6/2/06
I had a wonderful and relaxing stay amongst your mermaids and Tibetan flags and so on.  I wish you well and hope to come back (and recommend this to all I know) in future times.  Emily from Naperville, IL

5/31/06
Thanks a lot for having us in this very fascinating lodge!  We don't know how we could be so lucky to find you!  The guest room was so lovely, the mermaids were so refreshing, the breakfast delicious and you have been so kind and helpful.  The stay with you was definitely one of the very special kind on our trip through America.  We wish you all the best and maybe see you if we ever come to Michigan again.  And we will tell you how we liked the Lake Michigan.  Thanks for the tip!  Christian and Sylvia from Germany

5/23/06
Hi Heather- We guests should start using both sides of the pages - once this B&B news gets out, you should be real popular.  For our first B&B experience, we had a wonderful time!  How many hotels have we wasted away in!  Thank you for sharing your art, experiences, journal and life with us.  We hope to be back.  All the stuff about cozy, quiet, comfortable - usual adjectives, way true.  The depth you offer with your experiences is way cool.  I'm usually tied with the band (i.e., hotel) but wish to come again next pleasure trip.  Thanks.  Steve and Sakki

5/22/06
Heather - We very much enjoyed our stay here.  It is surely one of the more interesting and eclectic placed in which we've stayed.  And, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast just right (including GOOD coffee!), and the location was perfect for us.  We found your various art creations delightful, and the collections quite charming.  It's apparent that you have many talents!  We hope to return, and will check with you well in advance.  We wish you well in your many endeavors.  Sandy and Peter from Minneapolis, MN

5/14/06

Thank you for your kind hospitality and delicious breakfast - what a treasure of heavenly delights you have created in this lovely old home!  So much to see - (we love your artwork) + hearing Frederika [cat] on piano - started you video but didn't have time to finish.  It was a fun experience - on all levels.  We will return.  Thanks so much.  Namaste.  Shelley & Sol

4/18/06
Frederika [cat], I was honored & humbled by your presence.  Thank you for sharing your place with the likes of a human like me.  Allowing me to scratch your neck and stroke your back was more rewarding than you can imagine.  Live long and prosper.

Heather, Thank you so much for waking every morning.  It's hard to imagine a world w/o people like you.  Nepal better get its act straight so you can go back.  You made Ann Arbor even more beautiful.  Mustafa from Chicago

4/18/06

Heather, thanks for having us.  We liked your clean room, mermaid bathroom and, of course, Frederika.  (We have two cats at home.)  The Lodge is a wonderful place to stay after long cold bike rides.  Sean & Krista, the bicyclists from Minneapolis

4/7/06
Heather, you are an incredible inspiration.  If you were interested in it, you would be @ the top of the game in the corporate world - instead you have ventured out on your own w/3-4 companies & whatever side gigs you can come up with to do what you love.  What a rare & remarkable sense of self.  Thank you 100 times for sharing your fascinating home - for the Bazaar in the Garage & for the incredible insight into what is possible.  You really, really rock & we'll be sending everyone we know to the Trekkers' Lodge.  Christie & Kindra from Atlanta

2/21/06
You have a lovely house in a wonderful neighborhood in a very cool town.  It was wonderful to walk through the area with you and a pleasure to be acknowledged by Miss Frederika [cat]!  We hope to see you again!  Krista & Ivan, Lafayette, IN

2/20/03
What a treat it has been to stay here!  I'm only hoping that it will be available the next time I come to Ann Arbor!  Thank you for the depth of your hospitality.  Heather from Seattle  Thank you for bringing Nepal - so far away - so close to me.  Let's hope that we can be as peaceful as a nation as we are between these walls.  Noni, NYC

2/25/03
Thank you for your amazing hospitality.  The Trekkers' Lodge has been a wonderful base camp for my 1st expedition to Ann Arbor!  Pippa, West Virginia

4/5/03
You have made quite a home here in little ol' Ann Arbor.  Thank you so much for sharing it with my mom & me.  I also appreciate our - rather open - ended, open minded conversations tonight.  I also enjoy discussions that expand the mind & connect people to the greater what is.  They always seem to bring people, life, closer together.  We aren't as different as we appear to be.  I will also try to remember to thank Frederika, la chat de maison, for her wonderful personality & presence.  Thanks so much for making this visit to Ann Arbor the best yet.  Keep on grooving through life - you have great ideas!  Rachel, Boise ID

4/19/03
I'm so glad we stayed here - the peacefulness and the interesting "readings" of this house make it so comfortable.  Good luck in all your ventures and be healthy and safe.  Until we meet again.  Barbara, Brooklyn NY

12/23-25/2002

Thank you for sharing your lovely B&B with us and especially for making us so welcome over the holidays. We are just sorry that by spending time with our family in Ann Arbor we couldn't spend time with you, learning about your treks and seeing the attic. But at least my grandson, Davis, had a chance to explore your attic when we stopped by in October. Have a great 2003 and we'll hope to see you again for longer another time.
Barbara from NYC and Sarah from Philadelphia

11/30/02

You truly are an amazing artist at heart. There doesn't seem to be any limit to your talents, from painting to music and helping a cancer patient achieve the impossible! Our stay at your B&B was a real delight, from all trips to Ann Arbor, this one has been the most memorable! I've loved exploring every nook and cranny in your house and my kids have loved it too. That is the real compliment, I guess, because it's always the hardest to win over the 'li ttle people'. I hope we can reciprocate your hospitality sometime whenever you visit DC. All the best in your future endeavors!
Shabnam from Maryland
And from her daughter:

Thank you so much for the awesome stay. I love this house. I especially love the attic. The dollhouse was cute, too. Your house is the coolest ever, and so are you.
Simran (10) from Maryland
P.S. I will stay here again.

Thank you very much for making us feel so welcome here at the Eighth Street Trekkers' Lodge and making our visit to Ann Arbor so enjoyable. We both enjoyed the whole experience from ringing the bells in Kerrytown, watching your video, the attic, the Bazaar and of course the breakfasts. I hope you achieve everything you want to.
Ami and Dan from England

You've made a wonderful place here. It is a kind of lesson for life: to enjoy things and share the joy with others. I am sorry that I leave today already and that I overslept most of my time! I hope I'll be here again.
Lucie from Holland
