Technical Climbing and Ice Peaks
Of Global Interest LLC will make all the necessary arrangements for technical climbing in the Himalayas and for major expeditions, including the summit of Mt. Everest. I work closely with the best Sherpas that operate local companies in Kathmandu and am VERY well connected. Whatever the request, we will find the right people and support to make it happen.
Among other things, Of Global Interest LLC will arrange, provide and/or hire: qualified and experienced climbing guides and Sherpas, climbing permits and government paperwork, itineraries, logistics of base camp operations, transport of supplies/equipment/gear, packing lists, team and shared equipment (tents, etc.), oxygen tanks, porters, yaks, insurance information, experienced cooks, kitchen/dining/storage tents, and arrangements for your personal support team (friends who want to trek and cheer you on but might not want to climb). And more.
There are hundreds of climbable peaks in the Himalayas, of course. Some of the more popular climbs are to summits of 20,000 to 25,000 feet. These are technical ice climbs. For many no previous ice climbing experience is necessary, however helpful. Your climbing guides will train you along the way. The shorter climbs mean about 5-10 days trekking to a base camp, then 1-2 days to higher camps and the summit. These are possible in a 3-4 week trip to Nepal.
